For eligible urgent shipments, combining NFO planning with a dedicated hand-carry courier can reduce depot handling and give one person responsibility for the item through the agreed journey.
Suitable NFO shipments
NFO is commonly considered for production-critical components, AOG parts, prototypes, urgent documents, electronics and other high-priority items where a delay has significant operational or financial consequences.
The next usable departure for your shipment
A flight shown as departing soon may already be impractical once collection, travel to the airport and check-in are included. Next Flight Out planning starts with when and where the item is actually ready. We then assess the departures a courier can realistically reach with an accepted shipment.
At Direct Carry, an NFO enquiry is assessed for an accompanied courier journey. Tell us the exact contents and packed size before relying on a passenger-flight option. We do not accept dangerous goods. Oversized or otherwise unsuitable shipments cannot be confirmed for this service; item and airline acceptance must be established before booking.
Why the first flight may not mean the first delivery
Compare the expected handover time, not only departure or landing. A connection adds transfer time and disruption exposure, while a destination airport farther from the recipient can add a longer final journey. Customs, traveller entry requirements and the receiving site's opening hours can also affect the practical result.

Information that helps us assess an urgent departure
- Collection city, postcode and earliest ready time.
- Delivery address, recipient contact and latest handover time, with its time zone.
- Exact contents, package count, dimensions, weight and value.
- Any batteries, liquids, special handling or supporting paperwork.
- Whether an alternative airport or agreed handover point would be acceptable.

If timing or availability changes
Tell us immediately if packing is delayed or the delivery deadline moves. That can make a different departure or gateway necessary. A route proposal is based on the conditions checked at the time; an unbooked ticket and an estimated delivery window are not guarantees.

Every enquiry is assessed individually. We need the collection location, destination, ready time, absolute deadline, accurate contents description, dimensions, weight, value and any special handling or regulatory requirements. We then assess whether hand carry is suitable and identify the fastest practical routing.
