WHY DIRECT CARRY

An accompanied option for documents outside the normal routing

Your customer sees the deadline, not the complexity behind it. A dependable escalation option helps protect the account when normal routings fail.

We can work from your collection instructions and deliver to your overseas agent, consignee or named recipient.

For a document-only escalation, see urgent international document delivery. For goods travelling separately from their paperwork, start with small critical item carriage assessment.

Direct Carry is an on-board courier/hand-carry service, not a legal adviser or certification authority. We transport accepted items; the sender remains responsible for document validity, legalisation, filing rules and any jurisdiction-specific requirements.

HOW WE PLAN IT

Connect the shipper, forwarder and overseas agent

When original shipping paperwork has to move separately from a consignment, the document delivery needs its own clear instruction. Identify the overseas agent or recipient who needs the originals and the time they can accept them. Arrival of the documents does not itself confirm release of the associated goods.

01
Share the forwarding brief

Provide your job reference, shipper collection address, pack details and deadline. Separate document-only requests from those that include goods.

02
Confirm release authority

Tell the collection point who is arranging the courier and which pack to release. Nominate one forwarder contact authorised to amend the instruction.

03
Identify the overseas recipient

Give the agent or consignee contact who actually needs the paperwork. Confirm their working hours, address and any local handover reference.

04
Check the route and contents

The route is assessed from the physical ready time. If parts travel with the paperwork, contents, dimensions, weight and any batteries need their own assessment.

05
Agree reporting needs

State which movement updates and delivery details your operations desk needs. Agree how your reference should appear so the handover can be matched to the job.

06
Manage onward dependencies

Tell us if document receipt enables another collection or appointment. Your overseas agent should confirm those arrangements and advise if the receiving window changes.

Make the forwarding instruction usable at both ends
CUSTODY & HANDOVER

Make the forwarding instruction usable at both ends

Provide a consistent job reference to the shipper, courier booking contact and overseas agent. The person releasing the pack should know its envelope count and destination. If your customer requires a particular acknowledgement or restricted recipient, include that in the original request.

✓
Named collection contactConfirm the shipper knows the forwarder’s collection authority and job reference.
✓
Direct courier custodyState whether the instruction covers paperwork alone or an assessed item as well.
✓
Named recipientCheck the overseas agent’s actual delivery address and receiving window.
✓
Progress updatesNominate your operations contact for delays, changed addresses or new instructions.

FAQ

Common questions

Can the documents travel separately from the cargo?

A separate document movement can be assessed using its own ready time, recipient and deadline. The forwarder and overseas agent should confirm which physical originals are required and where they need to go.

Does document handover guarantee cargo release?

No. Delivery records the handover of the instructed pack. The relevant parties remain responsible for cargo release, document checks and any other requirements affecting the consignment.

Can our operations team receive the updates?

Provide the operations contact, job reference and the stages you need reported when requesting the movement. Explain who is authorised to change the route or recipient.

Can a small part be added to a document booking?

Declare the proposed item before acceptance. Its contents, packed size, weight, value, batteries and materials may change carriage suitability and the route; it should not be treated as an undeclared addition to an envelope.

Need the original there urgently?

Send the collection point, destination, document or item details and the real handover deadline. We’ll assess the practical route.
