Planning your delivery to Tokyo

Heathrow–Haneda is usually preferable for central Tokyo because Haneda is much closer to the city than Narita; both may be considered.

Haneda offers a much shorter final-mile leg to central Tokyo; Narita can still be useful if its departure/arrival timing is materially better.

A clearer door-to-door plan

Haneda or Narita? Choose the Tokyo handover, not just the airport

A useful Tokyo quote names the arrival airport and the final address. A handover near Tokyo Station, a meeting in Shinjuku and a delivery outside central Tokyo are not interchangeable. Give us the address in Japanese as well as English where available, the building or venue, and the person who can receive the shipment.

Arrival planning · Tokyo Haneda (HND) or Tokyo Narita (NRT), as the agreed itinerary permitsCompare each viable itinerary with airport exit, the appropriate onward train or road journey and the remaining time before the recipient closes. Haneda and Narita are not interchangeable stops: a more convenient airport is only helpful when its actual arrival and onward journey suit the deadline. Any transfer between airports is a separate journey, not an ordinary airside connection.

Where will the recipient actually receive it?

Marunouchi, Tokyo Station and business offices

Confirm the building entrance, receiving floor and whether delivery must precede a meeting or document-signing appointment.

Shinjuku, Shibuya and hotel recipients

Provide the exact property and an authorised contact. Avoid relying on a district name where several similarly named hotels or buildings may exist.

Yokohama and destinations outside Tokyo

Give the actual city at the start. A Tokyo airport may be a useful gateway, but the onward journey and final local deadline belong in the quoted route.

Prepare the item, not just the booking

Japan Customs distinguishes personal-use allowances from commercial commodities and samples, which can be subject to duty or tax. Describe the intended use and value accurately and establish the appropriate clearance route. A sample for a presentation, a replacement device and original paperwork should not be bundled together under an uninformative description such as 'business items'.

The delay worth planning around

A rail journey that works at midday may not be available after a late arrival. The courier's actual exit time, service operating hours and the recipient's access instructions must be checked together. Do not turn a published airport-to-station time into a guaranteed airport-to-desk promise.

Ask for the planned route and the current expected handover as separate pieces of information. A change to a flight or receiving arrangement can change the delivery estimate.

A useful first enquiry: what to send
  • The collection address and the date and time the item will physically be ready in London.
  • The actual destination, authorised recipient, local deadline and receiving hours.
  • What is inside, the packed weight and dimensions, value and intended use; identify batteries, liquids or unusual materials.
  • Any confidentiality, named-signature, building-access or return-journey requirement.
  • For goods, the receiving importer or responsible contact and any known clearance arrangement.

Unknown details can be flagged for follow-up. An enquiry does not reserve travel, confirm item acceptance or authorise payment.

Questions specific to Tokyo

Will you always choose Haneda?

No. We compare the usable flight options and complete onward journey. The airport with the better location is not necessarily the itinerary with the earliest feasible handover.

Can you deliver originals for a scheduled appointment?

Tell us the appointment date, local time and receiving instructions. The delivery deadline should allow the recipient to use the originals, rather than simply equal the start of the appointment.

Is Osaka delivery included in a Tokyo route?

No. Osaka is a separate delivery plan. We compare an appropriate international gateway and any domestic or rail leg against that recipient's deadline.

Planning information is not a fixed itinerary or a customs ruling. The accepted item, live travel options, courier availability, applicable requirements and recipient arrangements determine the confirmed booking.

ROUTE PLANNING

We plan the handover time, not just the departure.

For an urgent envelope or compact critical item, the fastest scheduled departure can still produce a slower delivery if it leaves from the wrong London gateway or lands too far from the recipient. The route is assessed door to door.

Emergency delivery to Japan

Send your collection point, item, destination and deadline. Our team checks available travel and confirms the delivery plan before booking.

Urgent documents and personal items

A signed contract, an existing passport or a set of forgotten keys can all have a deadline. Tell us what needs to reach Tokyo, when it is ready and who will receive it. We check the item’s suitability before accepting the delivery.

Do you need it today or tomorrow?

Give the earliest collection time and the date and local time your recipient in Tokyo needs the item. Same-day or next-day delivery depends on the complete journey, including airport processing and the final transfer. We confirm whether your deadline is achievable before you book.

Why documents suit OBC

A document envelope may have almost no physical value, yet missing a transaction, filing, meeting or tender deadline can be extremely expensive. That is why the service is priced around a dedicated route and courier rather than parcel weight.

Small items are still welcome

We are document-first, not document-only. Exact contents, dimensions, weight, value, batteries and materials must be provided so an item can be checked for the chosen route.

DOOR-TO-DOOR METHOD

How an urgent movement is built.

01
Collection readiness

We confirm the item is ready and get the exact collection contact before positioning the courier.

02
Choose London gateway

Compare the transfer from your actual collection address with check-in time and available departures to Tokyo. The nearest airport is useful only if its flight and onward journey fit the recipient deadline.

03
Direct vs connection

Compare the expected handover in Tokyo, including connection time and the final transfer. A direct journey reduces flight changes; a connection is considered only when it offers a workable overall delivery plan.

04
Arrival processing

Immigration, security, customs where relevant, baggage rules and airport/station exit time are included in the plan.

05
Final-mile transfer

The courier continues to the nominated address rather than treating airport arrival as job completion.

06
Direct handover

Delivery is made to the nominated recipient or agreed desk/contact, followed by confirmation.

TOKYO FINAL MILE

The arrival airport is not the finish line.

Airport choice is crucial. A slightly later Haneda arrival can sometimes beat an earlier Narita arrival once road/rail transfer is included.

For named offices, courts, banks, embassies, hotels, exhibition venues or industrial sites, access restrictions and recipient availability should be supplied before departure where possible.

Courier delivery questions

BEFORE YOU BOOK

Clear answers for your delivery.

We review your item, route and deadline before confirming the job.

Is this a confirmed flight or delivery time?

No. Route information and journey estimates are planning guidance. We check current availability, item acceptance and the full collection-to-recipient journey, then confirm the route, timing and total price in writing before booking.

Can I get a quote without the full address or measurements?

Yes. Send the details you know, including the item, collection point, destination and deadline. Tell us what still needs confirming; we check the missing details before confirming your route and total quote.

Does the quote include the whole journey?

Your confirmed quote covers collection through to delivery. We check all required travel, handling and any necessary overnight arrangements before you book.

Which time zone should I enter?

Use London time for collection and Tokyo time for delivery. Include the date with each time so we can check the collection and delivery windows accurately.

What details are needed before booking?

We need the full addresses and contacts at both ends, the contents and value, and the ready time and delivery deadline. For parcels, we also review the packed weight, dimensions and handling requirements.

How do you choose the route?

We assess available flights from suitable London airports. We allow time for collection, travel to the departure point, check-in and the onward journey to your recipient. We compare the complete journey against your delivery deadline and confirm the route and total quote before booking.

Do you always fly from Heathrow?

No. We assess suitable London departure airports against your collection point, ready time and destination deadline. We check which services are operating and reachable for the requested date before confirming the route.

Do you automatically choose a nonstop flight?

No. We compare workable direct and connecting journeys against the final handover deadline in Tokyo. A direct flight avoids a flight change, but availability, collection readiness and arrival time determine the practical choice.

Can you take only documents on this route?

No. Documents are the focus, but compact critical items can be assessed. Passenger-aircraft, dangerous-goods, customs, security and airline rules still apply.

How quickly can you leave?

It depends on collection readiness, courier positioning, ticket availability, airport/rail cut-offs, traveller entry requirements and the item. We assess the live route when you enquire.
