WHY DIRECT CARRY

Plan physical receipt before the receiving team’s cut-off

Financial transactions can depend on documents arriving within a settlement, funding or completion window.

The movement is planned as a controlled handover between named business contacts rather than as ordinary post.

For transaction packs shared between company offices, see corporate document delivery. If restricted recipients or update permissions matter, review confidential document handling.

Direct Carry is an on-board courier/hand-carry service, not a legal adviser or certification authority. We transport accepted items; the sender remains responsible for document validity, legalisation, filing rules and any jurisdiction-specific requirements.

Separate the courier deadline from financial processing
HOW WE PLAN IT

Separate the courier deadline from financial processing

An office can receive an envelope before a transaction team has reviewed it. Ask the receiving institution for the physical handover deadline and any time it needs after receipt. Give both times when enquiring so an airport arrival is not mistaken for readiness to complete the transaction.

01
Confirm the receipt cut-off

Ask the recipient when the physical pack must arrive. State the date, local time and time zone instead of using an unexplained settlement or funding deadline.

02
Check the release point

Give the office holding the finished originals and a named collection contact. Identify any signature or approval that still affects readiness.

03
Locate the correct desk

Confirm the receiving team, building entrance and internal reference. Include the department’s hours and any arrangement required for courier access.

04
Assess end-to-end timing

Allow for collection, departure procedures, arrival formalities and travel to the institution. The proposed route must be judged by office handover time.

05
Agree the acknowledgement

Specify the receipt details the transaction team wants. A delivery acknowledgement and confirmation that a financial process has completed are separate events.

06
Define escalation contacts

Give someone who can decide what to do if the cut-off becomes unachievable. Re-routing or holding a pack should follow an agreed instruction.

Use a pack reference and a named receiving team
CUSTODY & HANDOVER

Use a pack reference and a named receiving team

A neutral transaction reference can connect the collection and handover records without displaying sensitive financial information on the envelope. Confirm who may receive the pack and who should be told it has arrived. The recipient is responsible for checking the documents and progressing the transaction.

✓
Named collection contactUse a contact who knows the pack is final and ready to be released.
✓
Direct courier custodyConfirm the number of sealed packs and any external transaction reference.
✓
Named recipientIdentify the operations team or adviser, including an alternative contact if permitted.
✓
Progress updatesDistinguish a courier handover update from a transaction completion message.

FAQ

Common questions

Does delivery guarantee settlement or release of funds?

No. The courier can complete the agreed physical handover, but the receiving institution controls its document checks and transaction processing. Confirm their requirements directly.

Should I give a UK deadline or the recipient’s local time?

Provide the receiving office’s date, time and time zone, with the UK collection-ready time separately. Identify any additional review period the recipient needs after handover.

Can the pack go to a bank’s general reception?

Only use that instruction if the receiving team confirms it is acceptable. Otherwise provide the specific desk, department, appointment or named person required.

What if the office cut-off is missed?

Agree an escalation contact before dispatch. A later delivery, changed office or next available receiving window may need a revised instruction; it should not be assumed to preserve the original transaction timetable.

Need the original there urgently?

Send the collection point, destination, document or item details and the real handover deadline. We’ll assess the practical route.
